I borrow books from the Seattle library all the time. I can put stuff on hold from my computer and then pick them up when they’re ready. New releases can have long waiting lines, but all that means is that I put a lot on my list and get a surprise every time I go.
And, I’m in the Chicago library right now (beautiful building!).
Public libraries provide information people need and want in life and, at least in the US, most services are free. And they have an amazing number of resources available today. Download audio, video and book content, look up investment or job information, do homework, learn a craft, win trivia contests… all you have to do is ask for what you need.
